Lions’ football player killed in car wreck

On Monday a Missouri Southern running back, Renard Johnson was killed in a car accident on Will Rogers Turnpike in Ottawa County on his way back home to Tulsa. On the scene he was pronounced dead due to not wearing a seat belt. Johnson was on his way home to see his girlfriend and newly born son.  He was a really nice young man and a tremendous competitor.

His death really affected me even though I did not know him personally. To know that someone that goes to school with me lost his life and left a family behind breaks my heart. It has definitely made me rethink about putting a seatbelt on every time I get in my car. I am very sorry to his family and friends but it has thought me a life saving lesson.

  1. That is so sad that he lost his life. I didn't know him either, but it does break your heart when you hear sad stories like that. I know I learned my lesson to try to remember to always wear my seatbelt. When I was a little girl, my mom would always remind me to wear my seatbelt if I didn't have it on. When I was in second grade, the one time my mom forgot to remind me to wear my seatbelt and she forgot to wear hers as well, we got in a horrible accident. I was in the back and I flipped in my sister's lap, all I had was some bruises luckily. My mom was in the passenger seat and my dad was driving and I think what saved my moms life from not going through the windshield was my dad put his arm to stop her from going through and she just had some glass cut her face. So I do the same with my kids and my nephew, or anybody else thats in the car with me to wear there seat belts.
