Prosecutor files charges in beating and robbery of man

The Jasper County prosecutor’s office has filed a robbery charge against a man named Joe D. Summers, 32, who was arrested on Saturday for beating and the robbery of Anthony Loeffler, 25, at a homeless camp along railroad tracks near West 7th Street in Joplin. Loeffler told the police that he was jumped by two men at the campsite; they stole his tobacco, alcohol, and knife. Summers was charged with second-degree robbery.

I think it’s terrible that some men beat and robbed a homeless man. Just because the young man is homeless gives no reason for someone to bully him, it’s very immature and cruel of Mr. Summers for what he did and should be punished for his actions.
